Blue’s Anatomy?
May 4, 2007, 12:12 am

I wonder what the name is going to be.. ? I think I just might be hooked into this one… I can’t wait to see this show it looks like it promises to be good as hell….

What: The two-hour episode that’s been generating online buzz and industry speculation for months.
Why It’s Sweeps-worthy: This could change the face of television as you know it forever. Or it’ll change the staff at Seattle Grace, and that’s pretty much the same thing, given the show’s success. This is setting up Kate Walsh’s potential spinoff: Dr. Addison Forbes Montgomery could end up moving to California and working with a different set of McDream-docs, including Taye Diggs and Tim Daly.
Why It Might Not Be: Walsh is knockout-gorgeous, but if she’s spinoff-able, maybe that means she’s emotionally marginal.
Where: ABC
When: 9 p.m. ET

TR Knight Ready for Break
April 16, 2007, 8:12 pm
Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, TR Knight

Grey’s Anatomy star T.R. Knight says he’s looking forward to some time off from the hit show.

Knight, who was at the center of an uproar last year when costar Isaiah Washington allegedly referred to him by a homophobic slur, was asked by Access Hollywood how things were on the set.

“We have about 20 days left [until the season ends], not that I’m counting,” he said. “It’s going to be nice to have two months away, you know. I think everyone’s looking forward to it.”

Knight, 34, made his comments at the GLAAD Media Awards in Hollywood on Saturday, where Grey’s won an award for outstanding individual episode for “Where the Boys Are.”

Asked if the summer break would give Knight time to reflect upon the tumultuous season, he said: “Yeah, to learn from it. Grow. That’s the hope; that’s my hope.”

The trouble started in October when Washington reportedly used the slur during an on-set argument with costar Patrick Dempsey. Shortly after the incident, Knight confirmed to PEOPLE that he is gay.

He later told Ellen DeGeneres that hearing Washington use the word gave him the courage to come out. In January, Washington apologized and checked into rehab.

Knight, who opened the awards show on Saturday, told Access Hollywood he’s not sure the wounds from the dustup have truly begun to heal. “I don’t know,” he said. “We’re showing up and doing our work. … There’s a lot of work to be done, so that’s my focus.”

Asked if his relationship with Washington is on the mend, Knight said, “I just focus on doing the work. That’s my job; that’s what I’m paid for, and I think that’s enough.

GREY’S ANATOMY star KATE WALSH has slammed co-star ISAIAH WASHINGTON’s recent homophobic rant for “eclipsing” the show’s Golden Globe win. Washington called castmate T.R. KNIGHT a “faggot” during an onset fight with co-star PATRICK DEMPSEY last year (06), and repeated the anti-gay slur at the Golden Globes in January (07). Grey’s Anatomy was was named Best Television Drama series at the award ceremony, but Walsh admits Washington’s behaviour overshadowed the win. She says, “It was definitely sad. It’s annoying. And it eclipsed our Golden Globes win, which I was upset about.” Network ABC this month (MAR07) announced plans for a Grey’s Anatomy spin off, with Walsh’s character DR ADDISON MONTGOMERY-SHEPHERD the focus of a two-hour pilot to be aired in May this year (07).

Katherine Heigl has dropped out of contract talks with Grey’s Anatomy over salary, a well-placed source tells PEOPLE.

“Katie is disappointed and hurt that (producer) Touchstone doesn’t value her as much as her other costars, especially Sandra Oh and Isaiah Washington,” the source says.

Heigl plays Dr. Isobel “Izzie” Stevenson on the ABC hit medical drama.

A rep for ABC Touchstone TV had no comment.

Grey’s Anatomy about to Mess Something Up

Filed under: Grey's Anatomy, Kate Walsh

Means very bad things… When I say both of those in one sentence… Grey’s Anatomy is playing with fire by trying new things… They are taking a high-risk gamble, ABC is planning to remove the character of Dr. Addison Montgomery-Shepherd, played by Kate Walsh, from Grey’s Anatomy and place her in a new, as-yet-untitled series, the Wall Street Journal reported today (Wednesday), citing no sources. The newspaper said that series creator Shonda Rhimes has informed the Grey’s cast about the project and will write a special two-hour Grey’s episode that will would serve as a pilot. ABC, the Journal said, would likely air it during the May sweeps.

I say say hell no because when you start to play with things that are going well you tend to mess it up big time.. So leave it be ABC and Shonda….

GREY’S ANATOMY star KATHERINE HEIGL is confident the cast of the hit series can move forward after the controversy surrounding co-star ISAIAH WASHINGTON. Washington made headlines after using an anti-gay slur towards co-star TR KNIGHT and subsequently checked into rehab for treatment. Heigl claims the cast usually gets along well and that the set felt “like work as usual” now that Washington has returned. The star, who has been a staunch supporter of her friend and castmate Knight, believes the appropriate measures were taken under the circumstances. She adds, “If it were ignored or just brushed under the rug, I would be angrier about it. But he’s trying very hard. We’re all trying very hard. “I, obviously, have been very verbal about all of this, but there isn’t a lot going on right now. We’re all hopeful.”

Isaiah Returns to Work….

Isaiah Washington is scheduled to return to the Grey’s Anatomy set as early as Thursday for the first time since entering counseling after making a homophobic slur, a source tells PEOPLE.

Washington, who plays Dr. Preston Burke, has not been on the set since Jan. 23, the day before he issued a statement saying he would seek counseling “as a necessary step toward understanding why I did what I did and making sure it never happens again.”

He also missed picking up a trophy at Sunday’s Screen Actors Guild Awards that honored the Grey’s cast for drama. “There’s a little awkwardness here,” costar Katherine Heigl said before the show. Best actress winner Chandra Wilson alluded to his absence, saying in her acceptance speech, “It’s about the 10 cast members sitting over there and the other one in rehab.”

A source familiar with the Grey’s Anatomy production schedule tells PEOPLE that Washington has confirmed he’ll arrive for his next call time, now set for Thursday, though the show’s production schedule changes.

Washington, 43, has been at the center of controversy since using a homophobic slur to refer to costar T.R. Knight, who is gay. After a firestorm of criticism, Washington apologized, then on Jan. 23 announced: “I have begun counseling.”

“I appreciate the fact that I have been given this opportunity and I remain committed to transforming my negative actions into positive results, personally and professionally,” he said.

Reps for the show and Washington declined to comment.[People]
